A case for Anaiah Kirk
To the Editor:
I won’t be voting to reelect Anaiah Kirk, supervisor in District 3. Anaiah is the best candidate and one of the best county supervisors I have ever known. Since 1969, I have known every Tuolumne County supervisor, some better than others. Most have been pretty good supervisors and some outstanding ones. Of course, there have been some notably bad ones, too. For fear of leaving someone out, I won’t mention any names good or bad, except for Supervisor Anaiah Kirk, who I endorse wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, I don’t live in his district, so I won’t be able to vote for him.
Comparisons are often made with former supervisors of various reputations. However, Anaiah Kirk doesn’t need comparisons, and it is not valid to do so. The issues and conditions today are not the same as they were in past years. Anaiah speaks his mind and makes pragmatic decisions after weighing up all the facts. He has been a solid leader who does his homework on every issue. Anaiah’s main strength is his authenticity.
There is nothing phony or flamboyant in Anaiah’s character. He has no plans for higher office and only seeks to represent his District 3 constituency. Kirk is a solid family man active in his community. He has a constant presence on Facebook and other social media, updating us on all the important issues facing the county. You might say that Anaiah is honest to a fault. He calls it the way he sees it regardless of the political fallout. It is an uncommon characteristic we need in our government institutions.
Anaiah Kirk has earned the public trust he took an oath to uphold. Let’s retain this very good man.
