‘Dracula’ the subject of appearance by descendent of author Bram Stoker

The producers of the Murphys Witch Walk will host an extra creepy event on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Dacre Stoker, a best-selling horror author and great-grandnephew of Bram Stoker, the author of “Dracula,” will make an appearance Tuesday, Oct. 4, in Angels Camp. Stoker will appear live on stage with a multimedia presentation that tells the story of his great-granduncle’s creation of the literary masterpiece and its iconic character, Dracula, on the 125th anniversary of the book.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. at the Bret Harte Theatre, 323 S. Main St. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Vampire attire is encouraged.

Tickets range from $20 to $60 per person, and anyone who buys a ticket can also get a 20% on Murphys Witch Walk Coven tickets. Additionally, each ticket comes with a commemorative 125th anniversary Dracula poster, a commemorative sixth annual Murphys Witch Walk poster, and two Murphys Witch Walk bumper stickers. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to Ronald Mcdonald House Charities Northern California in honor of 9-year old Wyatt Walker, of Murphys, and the Walker family.

“Super” Wyatt, as he has come to be known due to his resilience to unparalleled adversity, was diagnosed in December 2021 with medulloblastoma brain cancer, at which time he underwent emergency surgery to remove the life-threatening tumor from his brain.

The Murphys Witch Walk is slated for Saturday, Oct. 15.
