Sierra Repertory Theatre will close out its 2021 Tribute Series with a Tribute to “Joni Mitchell,” led by Maggie Hollinbeck and honoring the music of Canadian musician, singer-songwriter and painter, Joni Mitchell.

This powerful, soulful musical portrait includes new music and familiar favorites from a sensational group of musicians.

Hollinbeck (lead vocals, guitar) is based in New York City, where she's becoming a fixture in the actor/musician genre, playing roles in musicals such as “Once” (First National Tour, PCLO and Geva); “Red Roses, Green Gold” (off-broadway); “Woody Sez” (Ivoryton Playhouse); and “Ebeneezer Scrooge's Big Playhouse Christmas Show” (Bucks County Playhouse).

Her favorite place to make music, though, is in collaboration with Graham Sobelman. Together they've recorded five albums, including “Another Shade of Blue” and “Jane Kenyon Sessions Vol. One-four.” Sobelman (piano) is a prolific music director, working with companies such as Broadway Sacramento, Ensemble Theatre Company, International City Theatre, New Helvetia Theatre, Sacramento Theatre Company, Capital Stage, UC Davis, and Edinburgh Fringe.

Graham also conducted Gregg Coffin's “rightnexttome” at B Street Theatre and created the local cabaret series “Graham-a-rama.” As a composer, he has written the song-cycle “Love Is Eternal,” film score for “Lily,” numerous art songs, and recently premiered a choral piece with lyricist Omari Tau.

Performers in Sierra Repertorytheatre's “Atribute to Joni Mitchell” include (clockwise from above) Graham Sobelman and Maggie Hollinbeck, Hannah Jane Kile, Natalie Hagwood and Corey Morgan Strange.

Hannah Jane Kile (guitar, vocals) is a Sacramento-based composer, musician, actor and avid reader of sci-fi novels. Hannah has released four albums of original music, with her most recent being “They Almost Got Away Vol. 1” and “Broken Girl's Anthem” (2018), co-produced with her husband and bandmate, Corey Strange. Hannah is a favorite among festivals such as Strawberry Music Festival and California Worldfest. She has opened for Grammy Award-winning Patty Griffin, Ingrid Michaelson and A Great Big World.

Corey Morgan Strange (drums) is a musician and visual artist currently living in Sacramento.

His artwork can be found in drum shops worldwide such as Revival

Drum Shop in Portland, Oregon, Nelson Drum Shop in Nashville, Tennessee, Mother's Music Co. in Pelham, New Hampshire, and Ray's Vintage Drum Stock in Lyon, France. He has recorded and performed all over the country with numerous acts such as Hannah Jane Kile, Kyle Williams, Sam Jones and Uncle Dad's Art Collective.

Natalie Hagwood (cello, vocals) is currently a member of Dear Darling, a folk trio known for its “harmonies tight enough that these three could be sisters.” While pursuing her bachelor's degree in cello performance at the University of Nevada Reno, she attended the Next Festival of Emerging Artists, the Montecito

International Music Festival, and toured Germany with the Helmuth Rilling Weimar Bach Academy. In Seattle, Washington, she won the University of Washington Concerto Competition, soloing with the UW Symphony in 2018.

A fantastic time is sure to be had by all when “A Tribute to

Joni Mitchell” takes the stage Wednesday through Sunday, Oct. 20-24 at the Fallon House Theatre at Columbia State Historic Park. Show times are 7 p.m. each day with a matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
